This project had been on my mind for a few weeks. The way I work is that first, I think about a project for a long time, and then I just sit down and write.
But let’s start from the beginning … The idea first germinated in the minds of the librarians at the Nova Branch in September 2020. The pandemic was in full swing, and the library’s cultural and educational activities had moved totally online. Wanting to give their readers in Police and at the Nova Branch a surprise, the librarians had the idea for someone to read out a specially-written work on the library YouTube channel.
And it was me that wrote it! I’m so happy to have been given the honour!
The text, entitled On the Impossible Friendship of a Dog and a Cat, is a radio play/fairy tale with a moral. Then the day to read it arrived. The joint recording of the work On the Impossible Friendship of a Dog and a Cat is dedicated not only to the readers of the Nova Branch, but to all lovers of literature.
I also created a hand-written manuscript that came from the heart, as a sign of friendship. The librarians are extraordinary people, full of passion and commitment. Many thanks to Kasia Ługiewicz for the invitation; I’ll remember this event forever.
