I’ve just come from another wonderful meeting, which took place today in the Municipal and District Public Library in Goleniów.
Meetings with children and teenagers seem to be gathering steam (putting the wind in my sails!), because yesterday I had two sessions at the SAIL International School in Szczecin.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is one of the largest events of its kind in the world. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Fair returned in 2022 as a meeting place for enthusiasts of quality children’s books.
On the 23rd October 2021, on the occasion of the “Night of bookshops” in Szczecin’s cafe-bookshop “Kamienica w lesie”, I was hosted by Monika Szymanik, who created “TKamienica w lesie” with a view to meeting people, sharing the magic of the past, books and good coffee.
The idea first germinated in the minds of the librarians at the Nova Branch in September 2020. The pandemic was in full swing, and the library’s cultural and educational activities had moved totally online. Wanting to give their readers in Police and at the Nova Branch a surprise, the librarians had the idea for someone to read out a specially-written work on the library YouTube channel.
On March 23, 2021 at 14.30 I had the pleasure of running a training session on the Saltamontes Chronicles trilogy, aimed at teachers, librarians and school counsellors and organised by the West Pomeranian Centre for Teacher Development.
