The 2nd National Festival of Spoken Books was held in Szczecin from 15-19 May 2014. The idea behind the first edition of the festival held last May, called “Explorers of the Imagination” was to promote literature. This simple promotion ended up taking the form of a huge artistic event, unique on the Polish cultural map, which touched the hearts not only of the audience but also the performers. The lead roles in the festival were played by well-known stage and radio actors, who turned reading a book into a wonderful creation, and listening into great inspiration for everyone who took part. This year, visitors to the festival had the great pleasure of listening to outstanding Polish and international works of literature, read by masters of interpretation of the written word: Teresa Budzisz-Krzyżanowska, Stanisława Celińska, Marta Lipińska, Zofia Kucówna, Grażyna Barszczewska, Izabela Kuna, Sławomira Łozińska, Edyta Jungowska, Magdalena Kumorek, Krystyna Czubówna, Andrzej Seweryn, Wojciech Pszoniak, Krzysztof Kowalewski, Krzysztof Globisz, Krzysztof Wakuliński, Artur Barciś, Mariusz Bonaszewski, Marcin Perchuć, Henryk Talar, Waldemar Barwiński and Ksawery Jasieński. The fact that I was invited to have my own book “The Saltamontes Chronicles – Escape from Darkness” read (by Krzysztof Wakuliński) was a great honour for me.
