Meeting at the Salesian Society Primary School

Today I visited the Salesian Society Primary School in Szczecin (thank you, Ms. Kamila, for the invitation!). Three hundred students (from grade 4 up), a large hall, and that special kind of silence that appears when children are truly listening. I spoke about reading and writing, but in truth… I was speaking about life. I value meetings like this, when I can see curiosity in their eyes—or even a quiet decision forming: “Maybe I could try writing something too?” I don’t want to be just “a writer talking about books.” I want to plant in young people the courage to take the first step toward their dreams. Thank you for such a warm welcome, for your kindness, and for the book I received today. My thanks also to Marzena Marzka from Mandala Bookstore for her support and presence. I return home convinced that if three hundred people want to take part in conversations about books and courage, then there is truly something worth nurturing.
